We recently built our custom dream home. We chose a floor plan from our builder and were able to make a few small tweaks to the plans. We were also able to make it our very own by choosing every little detail that went into our home. The style we were going for is Modern Farmhouse. Designing our own home was so rewarding. I’m not going to lie, it was very stressful at times, just hoping that all of our choices were the right ones and everything looked good together. Once everything was finished all of our design choices were in the house, we were beyond happy with how everything turned out.
One of the things we loved about this house and were very excited to have was the back patio. It is such a large patio and the perfect space for entertaining. We love spending time outdoors and having this extra space has pretty much added another room to our home. When we did our electrical walk, we were able to choose where we wanted all of the outlets and switches. We were also able to add extra lighting indoors and outdoors. It gets really hot here in the summer so we made sure to add support and wiring for outdoor ceiling fans on the patio.
When we picked out all of the lighting for the house we chose to put ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms and the great room. Our builder gave us a budget and a website to choose our fixtures. When we picked out the ceiling fans we just happened to choose Hunter fans. We had never owned a Hunter fan before and weren’t familiar with the brand. After having much success with our indoor ceiling fans we knew that we wanted to have Hunter fans on the patio as well. Our fan came with a super convenient wall control that allows us to easily adjust the speed right from the wall. As you can see from the pictures we have a table directly under the fan. We are so thankful that we don’t have to reach for a chain or move the table to control the speed of the fan. This modern ceiling fan also comes in white and matte silver.
